Crocnaraw, Ballinakill, Clifden Connemara, Connemara National Park and the great Diamond Mountain are 4 miles away. A great day to be had there. Kylemore Abbey is 4 miles further on from there. Westport is 40 miles from the property, but the fantastic Cliden town is 6 miles south there are plenty of restaurants, bars and nightlife in this town plus Supervalu, Lidl's & Aldi's supermarkets are there. Inishbofin Island is always worth at least a day trip. The ferry leaves daily from Cleggan fishing village, 3 miles away. If you fancy a round of Golf, Connemara Golf Club is open all year with super deals. 095 30 000 is a super local taxi service and babysitters can be arranged if you need them.
Bring your surfboards and bikes. Explore the grounds of Ballinahinch Castle some day.
